Graduation, Graduation Documents, Graduation Ceremonies
Bachelor's and Master's degree programs are completed when you have passed all module examinations and thus earned all the required ECTS credits. There is no separate final examination.
The final certificates are issued by the Examinations Office for Humanities and Social Sciences (PAGS) and can be collected there in person on request. As a rule, a processing time of approx. 4 weeks is to be expected for the preparation of the final documents.
For Bachelor's graduates, there is usually a graduation/certificate award ceremony organized by the English Department. For Master's graduates, there is an annual graduation/certificate award ceremony organized by the Faculty of Languages and Literatures.
The degree in the teacher education programs/"Lehramt" is the first state exam, for which you can register after passing all module examinations and submitting the thesis ("Zulassungsarbeit")
The Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs (Kultusministerium) will inform you of the results of the state examination by mail.
A graduation ceremony for "Lehramt" graduates is usually organized by the MZL ("Münchner Zentrum für Lehrerbildung").
Career Orientation
The "Praxiskolloquium" takes place every semester at the Faculty of Languages and Literatures. It comprises workshops on topics like writing job applications, offers insights into typical professional fields for linguists and literary scholars and opens up perspectives for career entry and careers.
The direct exchange with linguists and literary scholars who have taken different career paths and are at different stages of their professional careers is another central component of the colloquium.
