Claudia Mustroph (née Owczarek) studied at the University of Göttingen and the Paris-Sorbonne University. She holds a master’s degree in ‘Teaching English as a Foreign Language’ (TEFL), in ‘Teaching French as a Foreign Language’ and in Philosophy. From 2010 to 2012, she was a scholar of the Hertie Foundation. In September 2016, Claudia Owczarek joined the Chair of TEFL at LMU Munich as a research associate.
In her doctoral thesis, Claudia conducted a mixed-methods-study on teachers' beliefs on multimodal literature in the EFL classroom. Her PhD project was completed with distinction (summa cum laude) in February 2022.
Claudia Mustroph is a member of the DGFF (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Fremdsprachenforschung) and alumnus of the Graduate School Language and Literature Munich (Class of Language Education). From 2020-2023, she was a member of the third-party funded ERASMUS+ project DiCE.Lang that focused on digital citizenship education in the foreign language classroom with project partners from Ireland, Portugal, Italy and Latvia. Currently, she is an associate member in the national BMBF project network Kokon which researches teacher cooperation in the context of digital school development https://kokon.digital.
