The Internet – and especially the World Wide Web – makes it possible to record speech worldwide, distribute transcription tasks, and conduct perception experiments with large numbers of participants. The basic concept is simple: IPS provides the technology and the server, and researchers and test subjects around the world can access it.

Creating recording scripts, experiment sequences, and transcription tasks is not difficult, but it does require administrator access to the IPS databases. It is therefore necessary to implement such a task with a database administrator. This can be done quickly and unbureaucratically!
The contact person for Percy, WebTranscribe, and WikiSpeech is Christoph Draxler.
Further information can also be found in a Percy introductory video (on YouTube) and on the WikiSpeech website.
Other tools
Some web-based tools (e.g., WebMAUS) can also be used without administrator access. These tools can be found on a separate page.
