Exhibitions
To strengthen the role of the humanities in current political and scientific debates about the environment, and to involve the general public in this dialogue, the Rachel Carson Center organizes and collaborates on exhibitions at the Deutsches Museum and other venues.
The RCC strives to present environmental research in the context of current public discussions in an informative and participatory manner. Using an interdisciplinary approach, the exhibitions build bridges between the natural and social sciences and the humanities, as well as between science, politics, and the public.
Ecopolis München (2017–2019)
The Ecopolis project produced two exhibitions on the environmental histories of the City of Munich.

This special exhibition explored the idea of a new geological era shaped by the deep interventions into nature by humans as bio- and geological agents.

Cable Tangle: Energy Consumption in the Home (2012)
This exhibition on the mechanization of private households from the late 1800s through the present highlighted the effects of these changes on gender roles, lifestyles, and environmentalism.

The RCC and the Deutsches Museum joined forces and prepared their first exhibition for the “Discoveries 2010: Energy” exhibition on the island of Mainau.
