Marek Torčík comes from Přerov, Czech Republic. His collection of poems Rhizomy [Rhizomes] appeared in 2016; since then, he has been regularly publishing prose and poems. His debut novel Rozložíš paměť [Memory Burn] was published in 2023. It won the Magnesia Litera Award for Prose and the Jiří Orten Award and is now translated into 27 languages. Marek lives and works in Prague.
